Communism in 20 years : ウィキペディア英語版
Communism in 20 years
Communism in 20 years was a slogan put forth by Nikita Khrushchev at the 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1961.〔 Khrushchev's quote from his speech at the Congress: "Мы руководствуемся строго научными расчетами. А расчеты показывают, что за 20 годы мы построим в основном коммунистическое общество". 〕
In his speech, Khrushchev promised that communism will be built "in the main" by 1980.〔William J. Tompson, ''Khrushchev: A Political Life'', New York: St. Martin's Press, 1997, p. 238.〕 His phrase "The current generation of Soviet people will live under communism" was the final phrase of the new Program of the CPSU adopted at the congress.
The latter political slogan is attributed to Kremlin speechwriter Elizar Kuskov (Елизар Кусков), who allegedly quipped "this slogan will survive centuries". 〔("In the Shadow of Leaders" ), an interview with journalist Andrey Kolesnikov, ''Rossiyskaya Gazeta'', November 28, 2007 〕〔" will survive centuries" ("переживёт века") is a popular Russian cliche〕
